Making the Annapolis Valley a better place for LGBTQ youth and our allies

Under the sea prom logoDid you miss the Horton High Queer Prom and wish there was another place to have an awesome time with LBGTQ+ youth?

Did you make it to the Horton High Queer Prom, dance your tail off, and realize that one prom is just not enough?

Have you been dying to create and wear a custom mermaid costume?

If so, you’re in luck.  The Halifax Youth Project is putting on a Queer Prom again, with no restrictions about whether you’re a student or what school you go to. The theme is “Under the Sea” — feel free to dress up, down, or sideways.  LGTBQ+ youth and allies, 19 and under, are all welcome, and the Valley Youth Project will be providing transportation.

Here are the details:

  • Thursday, June 25th, 8pm – 11pm
  • Atlantica Hotel, Halifax
  • $5
  • Ages 19 and under
  • Absolutely drug and alcohol-free

We leave from the Louis Millet Community Centre (9489 Commercial St., New Minas) at 6:30PM, and we’ll return there for 12:30 that night.

To sign up for the drive, leave us your contact info (below) any time until Tuesday at midnight.

You’re welcome to bring your fancy duds and change at the dance — an entire section of the hotel, including washrooms, is reserved.

As always, your contact info is 100% confidential. Make sure we can reach you by phone or email — we need contact info for everyone in case of last-minute changes.  If you are 17 or under, you will also need a consent form that must be signed by a parent/guardian.  We can email you the form if you let us know in the comments; or, you can download and print it.  If your parent or guardian is dropping you off at the LMCC, we’ll have extras that they can sign right there and then.

Let the fun begin!
