The Youth Project and the Dalhousie School of Social Work are pleased to partner in creating a celebratory art piece to recognize both the organization’s long history, and those who began it. The community is invited to help us create a mosaic in tribute to The Youth Project, Planned Parenthood NS, Brenda Richard, Maura Donovan, and Leighann Wichman. With the passing of Leighann Wichman in October 2014, both the Youth Project and Dal School of Social Work want to honour and remember her through this collaborative art piece.
Everyone with a connection to the organization and/or its founders are invited to join us at Clay Café in Halifax to paint a tile for the mosaic. The tiles will celebrate all the things the Youth Project and Leighann, Brenda, Maura and PPNS have brought to us; pictures, words, memories, phrases, and more, many things can be painted on these tiles! It’s whatever you want to be celebrated. We will provide some guidelines, but artistic expression is encouraged!
Once all the tiles are collected, they will be installed in the School of Social Work and revealed in a celebration. Our hope is that this brings us together to remember Leighann’s huge impact upon the community, and celebrates the hard work of Leighann, Brenda, Maura, PPNS and The Youth Project.
