What would you say to teachers, parents, or doctors if you had a group of them together in a room? Are there ideas about sexual orientation and gender identity that you wish everyone knew?
The Valley Youth Project puts on workshops for adult professionals, and also sometimes for students in schools. Would you like to join us? Or, would you like to see what kinds of information we provide, and give us your suggestions? This week at drop-in, we’ll show you the 1-hour workshop we do with adults (you can see the handouts on the Workshops and Resources page of our website). Afterwards, there will be time to hear your suggestions about helping people really understand, and to talk about whether you might like to participate in these workshops in some way. There are lots of ways that youth can participate in workshops — from leading the whole thing to sitting in and answering questions at the end, to whatever you feel comfortable with.
We’re at the usual time and place, Wednesday at 6:30-8:30 in Room 128 of the Louis Millet Community Complex, at 9489 Commercial Street in New Minas. If you’ve not been before, once inside the building, just follow the signs for the Valley Youth Project to the room with the rainbow flag on it’s door. We’ll have snacks to fuel your ideas and questions!
