This Sunday, November 15th, queer author and scholar Lucas Crawford will be visiting the VYP! Lucas will be reading from his recently published book Sideshow Concessions.
“Sideshow Concessions is the first book from queer performer and scholar Lucas Crawford. A collection populated by the circus-like bodies and experiences of a narrator navigating rural pasts and urban presents, Sideshow Concessions is the unofficial story of someone who is both a bearded lady and the fattest man in the world.”
Although Lucas now lives in Vancouver, he grew up in Kingston, NS. We are the last stop on his cross-country book tour. Lucas is a tremendous scholar and a talented author (and a potato chip connoisseur), and we are delighted to host him at the VYP. You can find out more about Lucas here: https://www.sfu.ca/gsws/people/facultystaff/Ruth_Wynn_Woodward_Chair.html
The reading will take place on Sunday, November 15th from 3:00pm to 4:30pm in room 117 of the Louis Millet Community Complex in New Minas. The event is free and open to the public, so please bring your friends!
