We are hosting a special Drop In just for parents and guardians on Wednesday April 12, from 6:30 – 8:30 pm, in Room 128 of the Louis Millet Community Complex, 9489 Commercial St., New Minas. This Drop In is for you parents and guardians only. You can bring along a friend, partner, or other adult family. We hope to allow parents and guardians of youth who identify with the LGBTQ+ community, a chance to learn more about the Valley Youth Project’s activities and information we provide, and to meet others who share your interest.
We will follow our usual Drop In format, first welcoming participants with a review of our Drop In guidelines, followed by a round of introductions to check-in with participants about what’s new with them. Our activity supplies, games, and library books, will be on display for your enjoyment. We’ll have snacks and drinks. (All VYP events are drug and alcohol free.)
If you need a ride to Drop In, use the Transportation Request button to request a ride from anywhere in Annapolis, Kings or Hants counties. There is no cost to you. Submitting your request two or more days in advance of Drop In works best for us.
If interested, just drop in, you do not have to RSVP or sign up for anything. Once in the LMCC, follow the VYP signs to Room 128, with the big rainbow flag hanging on the door. The room is open before 6:30, and we get started at 6:30, but you can drop in later, and leave before 8:30 if needed.
A note for our regular participants: This is an extra Drop In session, so it doesn’t interfere with our regular Drop In schedule. Please feel free to share this with any of the adults in your family (however you define family) who you wish knew more about the VYP and what we do.
