Making the Annapolis Valley a better place for LGBTQ youth and our allies

We’ll be celebrating the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia at the May 17 Drop In, with a discussion about sex and sexuality, lead by guest facilitators Max and Tessa Janes.

Do you feel like you’re missing out on sex ed that speaks about the LGBTQ+  experience? Join us for this workshop that will focus on filling in the gaps between gossip and Google searches about how to stay safe, be kind to yourself, and learn the “Dos and Don’ts” of sex and sexuality.

Max and Tessa Janes are two trans, queer sex educators who have worked with peer support groups at Acadia University, creating awareness, and collecting resources, for women and LGBTQ+ folks. Together they aim to provide evidence-based, accessible education on gender health, relationship health and sexuality with a queer spin.  Max and Tessa also own a feminist bookstore and sex shop in Wolfville that provides education and resources for LGBTQ+ folks in the Annapolis Valley.

Drop In happens from 6:30 -8:30 pm in room 128 of the Louis Millet Community Complex, 9489 Commercial St, New Minas.  You can request a ride to and from Drop In using the Transportation Request button.  Our Drop In runs on the guiding principle of good faith cooperation amongst all participants.
