Making the Annapolis Valley a better place for LGBTQ youth and our allies

Valley Youth Project rainbow heart logoWe are hosting a special Drop In on June 21, just for those who are not our usual participants.  If you are curious about what happens at our Drop In, here is a chance to meet the facilitators, and experience what we do. We’ll follow our usual format, opening with a review of our participant guidelines, and a check-in with introductions. Then we’ll have our library, games, and activity supplies on display for you to try out.

Guest Drop In is 6:30 – 8:30 pm, Wednesday, June 21. In Room 128 of the Louis Millet Community Complex, 9489 Commercial St., New Minas.  Once inside, follow the signs to the room with the rainbow flag on the door. It’s okay to show up after 6:30, or leave before 8:30.

So if you’re a parent, a supporter (or would like to be), a GSA advisor, wanting to volunteer,  someone who works with youth, or would just like to sit in a safer queer space for a bit, we want to meet you, and have you experience our Drop In as a participant.

We will be accepting donations at our Drop In, but donating is not required to participate – participation is always free of charge.  We use our donations of cash to pay for activity supplies, snacks and drinks, and transportation to Drop In and other VYP events.

If you need a ride to and from Drop In, please submit a Transportation Request  and we will arrange a ride for you.  Instructions for making request are on the Transportation Request page.

Hi, just wondering if your Drop Ins are still 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month? We have an older poster and we’d like to make sure the information is accurate. (Dr. Elizabeth King’s office in Bridgetown). Thank you. Cecilia, Office Assistant

    • Yes Cecilia, Drop In still happens the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays. Our next one is December 6, and then we take a break for the holiday season. We’ll be back Jan. 17, 2018. If you want some fresh posters, we can mail them to your office. Send an email to valleyyouthproject@gmail.com with your address, and we’ll send them along, or drop them off if one of us is in the area. We are now offering free-transportation for anyone in Annapolis, Kings and Hants counties. See the “Transportation Request” button on our blog for more details.
      Thanks for contacting us.
      Cheers, Tim
